What does the future workplace look like?

29PS2416

Architecture & Design have just published an article on the future of workpace design and  our PetSure project has been included in the review of progressive Australian projects that provide a glimpse into where workplaces of the future are headed. Here’s a brief extract;

“Physical and mental wellbeing should not be treated separately in workplace design, but rather designed for as part of a singular concept. In the same way that non-physical design elements such as light and air improve the health of a building’s human occupants, so too do the more tangible and traversable elements that are expressed with an office’s floorplan and integrated technologies.

Whether it’s as simple as shower facilities to accommodate staff members who cycle to work, or flexible floorplans that encourage movement between workspaces, here are three home-grown commercial projects that lay out a roadmap for agitating traditional workplace typologies.”

PetSure has certainly struck a chord around the world as more people consider the positive effects on pets in the workplace and as this article mentions, the effects a pet owners work might have on their furry companions. You can read it here.

2 x Silver in the Sydney Design Awards!

BOLD_Silver

We’re excited to announce that not one but two of our projects won silver in the 2017 Sydney Design Awards. Enero, a media project that manipulates ideas of light/dark, black/white, private/open and is housed in one of Pyrmont’s heritage listed woolsheds was awarded silver in the Corporate Commercial category. Whilst in the Hospitality Casual category our graphic and playful Harajuku inspired Sushi Canteen in Sydney’s Town Hall Station took out the same honour.

We’d like to thank you for supporting us and for making your vote count. It’s an honour to have these two projects recognised as they’re great representations of what The Bold Collective is all about: a multi-disciplinary approach to interiors that pushes the limits of what design can achieve.

We have a long history with the Sydney Design Awards and our projects have been winners and finalists in their categories every year since our very first entry back in 2013! So this year we are thrilled have 3 projects shortlisted – Enero and PetSure in the Corporate Commercial category and Sushi Canteen in the Retail category.

This is a competition that allows you to cast a vote as well, so if you could take a moment to rate our projects (5 stars of course) we would really appreciate it. Click on the project links above and then simply click on the blue ‘rate this entry now button‘ at the top of the page. Winners will be announced on the 10th of August, 2017… we’ll keep you posted!

Best Costume winners at Dance for Life

dance for life BOLD
We did it! Not only did we raise over $20,000, we danced our hearts out AND won the award for best costume! Here we are on stage in all our Katy Perry glory…

Dance For Life was a spectacular success raising an incredible $154,097 overall towards the vital work of ReachOut. We are so grateful to all of you who donated goods and money and support to help us go way above and beyond our financial goal.

The Best Costume Award was the icing on the cake! Each costume was handmade by a member of our team (you can see our inspiration below) so we were oh so thrilled with the accolade. Of course special thanks must also go to Spotlight for the spandex, Lincraft for the sequins and glue guns and Bunnings for the expanda foam…

Dance for Life 2017

Dance for life_Auction

We love to dance (almost as much as design) and as you may know, we’ve been busy preparing for the fierce competition that is Dance for Life 2017. It takes place on March 17th, when we will be dancing off against 9 other of Sydney’s top tier interior design firms. We’re confident (of course!) with spray tans and jazz hands at the ready. But perhaps the best bit is that all the proceeds go towards ReachOut, a vital online mental health service that aims to reduce suicide rates among the under 25 age group. We’re still fundraising, so if you would like to donate you can do so here.

Thank you for supporting us and a most excellent cause. Oh and we promise to put on a good show…  we’ll report back after the event (with proof!).
