SAI Global, Sydney 2014

THE BOLD COLLECTIVE | SAI GLOBAL | RECEPTIONSAI Global were moving into a larger workspace in Sydney and required a designer to work with them to utilise existing structure, furniture and finishes to create a space suitable for their own occupation. The key areas for design included the reception, boardroom, executive offices and new workstations to increase floor density.

The front of house area included glossy bamboo floors and a sleek timber clad wall behind a marble reception desk. The desk was framed with an overhead structure and included strip lighting. A lazer cut metal logo was taken from the previous site, mounted to the timber clad wall and offset with three contemporary hanging pendants above the desk. Either side of the timber cladding was frosted glass, concealing the SAI Global boardroom.

The new private executive offices are adjacent to the arrival and boardroom area and consist of plush carpet, timber joinery and take full advantage of the expansive views. Open plan workstations also enjoy the views and were updated from 120 degree systems to bench style systems to maximise the floor occupancy. Existing pedestals and task chairs were utilised and the meeting rooms were painted in colours to match. Grey toned were used to neutralise the eclectic mix of yellows and reds left from the existing fitout.
